When you think of Shanghai, you think of the old days where it was a metropolitan city...for foreigners. Where people mysteriously disappeared, hence the word, "Shanghaied." Anyways, Shanghai today retains some flavor of it's colonial past but now is a major financial powerhouse in Asia. Shanghai is the financial and business center of China. It's overtaken Hong Kong for that claim to fame. In any event, Above are snapshots around the city. As a bonus, you get a look at an automated Mah Jong table.
Shanghai is a one of those places where you think you know it but you don't. Especially the way the lifestyle has evolved. You can compare Shanghai to Los Angeles, fast paced, never ending, and always on the go. The pictures above are just samples of one of the things that make Shanghai go. The food! There are many types of restaurants from the many regions of China. One of my favorites are the Shanghai dumplings. But the other stuff was good as well. If you're familiar with American-style Chinese food, you'll notice both familiarity but at the same time, something you've never seen before.

Above are some of the folks we've met during our travels. And of course a look at some of the furniture being made. If you have garden furniture or rottan furniture, well, I was at a factory where they make it. Finally, to finish Shanghai, I had to take some parting snapshots of some of the beautiful girls I had the chance to meet.
